ADR Welcomes Dr. Sir Avington

My name is Sir T. Avington, and I am from Tulsa, Ok. I have four adult children who live at home with me, and their ages range from 25-to 21. I graduated from Jenks high school, receiving a full football scholarship to attend Missouri Southern State University (MSSU). I graduated from MSSU with both a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and an associate’s degree in Law Enforcement in December of 1997. After college, I enlisted in the United States Army in March of 1998 as a Chemical Operations Specialist. My military career would take me to various places worldwide, including a five-year stint in Germany from 2001-to 2005. I deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan combat zones during my time in the military.

In February 2009, I received my master’s degree in Criminal Justice and my Ph.D. in December of 2017 in Management with a concentration in Homeland Security. I retired from Quantico after a 20-year career in the military in April 2018. During my career, I had the incredible opportunity to coach, teach and mentor countless Soldiers as a Noncommissioned Officer in the most significant land force known to man. I taught at the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) school as an instructor/writer for three years. During this time, I achieved master-level instructor credentials, the highest level that an instructor can achieve.

After retirement, I went to work as a Security Investigator for the United Parcel Service (UPS), where I provided executive protection for CEO David Abney. I worked in that position for two years until I left the company in December 2020. I currently teach criminal justice for Southern New Hampshire University. I have been in this position for over a year. It is an honor to join such an incredible team and leader in Dileimy.
